The top picture shows the garden when we first moved into our new home in 2021, and the bottom picture shows it this week! Look at all of our lovely vegetables; they have finally started to grow after a little flurry of sunshine here in Ross on Wye 🙌🏻.
And our cabin—I'm so proud of it! We have both worked so hard to get it to this point.

From this to this!

We were so excited when we first bought the house to find that we had this lovely piece of garden that was big enough to put a work room on. It had ample space, and the surroundings are very peaceful.

We had been toying with the idea of building a cabin here since we moved in, but after some hesitancy, years of early starts, and long nights in the upstairs shop studio, We decided to build ourselves one.

We wanted more from our work-life balance, and with a busy family life, and equally busy work life we thought it would be easier to work from home. We considered keeping the shop open and setting up two studios. But those options didn't make any sense because the shop has three floors and 5 rooms that we wouldn't use all that often.

I think the expression spreading ourselves thin - came to mind.

The shop has been great, but unfortunately it demanded 100% dedication, a lot of time, and a shop rail of 200 garments per month, which I found impossible to keep up with.

So here we are!

We have one month left in the shop before we close its doors on August 31st. but it’s business as usual online. Now that the painting and the flooring are complete, our plan is to move all of our sewing room furniture into the workroom this weekend to avoid any disruption with our sewing calander.

In my next post, I'll keep you all updated on our move.

If you want to know anything in particular, contact me and I'll do a little blog about it. I’m so very new to all of this, so give me some time to find my feet.

I have lots more to share and I promise it won’t be all about my garden 🙈

Talk soon,

Nicola x
